Dr. Ali is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist who conducts neuropsychological assessments with children and adolescents (2- to 19-years-old) with a variety of medical, learning, and psychosocial concerns. In addition, Dr. Ali has extensive experience working with parents, medical providers, and schools, and believes in a collaborative and tailored approach to ensure families obtain valuable and comprehensive assessments.

Dr. Ali has specialized training and experience in the cognitive, adaptive, and behavioural assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities among very young children, including specialized training in the administration and interpretation of the ADOS-2.

Professional Biography

As a Fulbright scholar, Dr. Jeanelle Ali earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Memphis following Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and Master of Science (Clinical Psychology) programs at The University of the West Indies. Dr. Ali completed her pre-doctoral internship/residency at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/ Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine focused on Pediatric Neuropsychology and Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Ali then completed a two-year Pediatric Neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is currently licensed to practice as a Psychologist in the state of Tennessee, USA and in the province of Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Ali is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist with specialized training in Pediatric Neuropsychology who is actively involved in both the clinical care and academic investigation of children, adolescents, and young adults. Throughout her career, she administered both pediatric intervention and neuropsychological evaluation services to incomparable pediatric patient populations across developmental stages, diagnoses, and phases of treatment and in both medical and non-medical settings. Dr. Ali has  significant knowledge and experience in the administration and interpretation of comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for a wide variety of pediatric medical conditions, such as physical/ medical conditions (e.g., spina bifida, muscular dystrophy), developmental disabilities (e.g., fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, autism spectrum disorder), congenital and genetic disorders (e.g., fragile X syndrome), chronic medical illnesses (e.g., epilepsy), brain injuries, and those receiving CNS-directed therapies.

Dr. Ali worked in a variety of clinical settings in Memphis, Tennessee including Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where she provided neuropsychological assessments in outpatient and inpatient settings for children diagnosed with various congenital and acquired medical conditions within Hematology/ Oncology, Congenital/ Genetic Disorders, and Epilepsy/ Brain Injury Clinics.

Dr. Ali provided psychological services at the Ottawa Centre for Cognitive Therapy and now at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. In support of her profession, Dr. Ali maintains membership in each of the national and international psychological associations. She is a professional member of the American Psychological Association’s Society for Clinical Neuropsychology – Public Interest Advisory Committee, Diversity Subcommittee. Dr. Ali has also published several peer-reviewed articles and has multiple conference presentations. Her scientific work examined health disparities as well as neurocognitive and psychosocial functioning among at-risk, minority/ underserved populations, and children with chronic medical illnesses.
